Having travelled a lot in the past decade, I have seen a few homes and locations that in part would make a wholesome living paradise for my soul and family life. If I had the ability or means to create my vision of utopia; could I bring utopia to others also? Initially the idea of creating a blog of paradise seemed a little random and noisy, after all, shouldn't this sweet nirvana be kept in the simple space of my mind? I believe that now, if I bring about some start to my vision of paradise, I can begin to create this space in reality, this wonderment of living and through the next few pages on this blog, I intend to take a reader from intrigued curiosity to inspired dreamy peace. Are you ready?
I really love the tropical life, the warm breezy mornings next to a calm bright turquoise sea, a white sandy beach being gently washed and smoothed by waves lapping at the shoreline, with the steady hiss and sigh that take a heart and soul to deep tranquility, the shoreline and the sea, would be miles long, a far walk for a man and a dog, two boys and a beautiful wife. A wide beach, strewn with natures treasures, washed up logs and wood, sea shells, coconuts even sand smoothed stones. Palm trees would line the beach edge, sea grape bushes giving way to verdant greens and light sandy forests, nestled in such an area would be a house, my house, overlooking this stunning vista. A path to the beach would lead down to the waters edge and a wooden jetty, moored to which would be an aged dingy and a little further out would be moored an older classic wooden sailing yacht.
The garden to my house, would be full of fruit trees, full of wonderful hemp plants and a vegetable greenhouse nestled alongside a good sized wooden outhouse, laden with windsurfing equipment. A field to the rear of my abode, would be home to a horse and some sheep. Chickens would coup under my boardwalk.
Around my house would be a long large wide veranda, full of deck chairs, comfortable two person seat-swings, driftwood art, collections of stones and rocks, my dog, tables and chairs, wooden benches and a good wooden couch. The entrance to the living room from the outside would pass immediately by the kitchen a long wide breakfast bar, the living room is cool, airy and decked in light wooden furniture, cream and striped cushions, a large low table would sit laden with an assortment of shells, curious stones, books, my children's toys, the wooden flooring covered with a large square of sumptuous cotton rug, the high ceiling beams holding a low hanging wooden chandelier. The large living space with it's windows draped in white cotton curtains hanging to the floor. A view out of the room across the deep dreamy ocean, would be accompanies by a tropical ambrosia of natures flowered fruit scents mixing the briny smell of the ocean sound against the shore line. A hammock would lay across my living space between two interior upright support beams, big enough for two. The rest of my paradise home would be adorned with enough space and wooden furnishings for me and my two growing children, with baths and beds aplenty, room enough to house another family of guests when they arrive.
My neighbors would be my family and lifelong friends who would choose to live near us, houses of similar character and size would be to my left and right.
My daily activities would include windsurfing, SCUBA-diving, swimming, snorkeling, horse-riding, gardening, cooking, writing, meditation, yoga, playing an instrument, singing, eating well prepared foods with friends and family or alone on the ocean shoreline. Painting everyday tropical wonder on any canvas that may be apt. Sailing around the paradise islands, having picnics on other tropical spots and teaching my children all manner of natures secrets.
Everyday would be filled with a different tropical paradise activity; from gazing for hours at the ocean whilst shooting the breeze with a good friend or friends, to riding the ocean swells catching the best breezes in sails for a deeply satisfying workout.
Around my island would be many treasures and wonders, a mountain, a waterfall, a river, birds and many turtles coming up to lay eggs in the deep coral sand.
The sea would be home to all fish, the reefs in the blue waters reaching to the surface and down many atmospheres to tranquil depths.
My paradise, my dream, mine into words and soon pictures; bringing this beauty to life.
